Ribbit

Hello ~

Took a little time to post some of the items I've been coloring. After not using my Copic's for almost a year, it's like starting all over again! So, I've printed a bunch of images out to practice at night while I watch TV with my fam. It'll still take more time, always learning & growing.

I also decided it'd be the perfect time to learn how to manipulate digital images with more proficiency. It's super fun to build images. The digi images are from Pixel Paper. I placed the frog on the lily pad and then I split the butterflies up (as they were one image) then I flipped one, repositioned them and then regrouped the altered images. I will never go totally digital, but I will be trying more moving forward!

Not sure why this card look so very washed out. I'm trying to learn the filters in my photo program and on PicMonkey, but am having troubles with that... more to learn! But when you stop learning, your brain dies!

Kitty Bee Christmas part 1

Hello my friends! So glad you are here to hear about the brand new challenge for Kitty Bee Designs ~  Aloha Friday Challenges! The theme is just perfect for this time of year, can you guess?? It's Christmas! yeppie

I decided to create a card that was just a little more special as it's just a wonderful time of the year - it's a double wiper card! I used this tutorial I found here. I simply adjusted to have two wipers. It's much easier than it looks, I promise. I adore these two little giraffe images from Kitty Bee Designs! BTW - if you are in the Etsy shop and don't see the image you'd love and have seen before, just let KBD know via a message thru Etsy shop.

My pattern papers are from SU, the ribbons are from Joann Fabrics and the white cardstock is Neenah. So, now it's your turn to add your Christmas inspired creation to the challenge - get your supplies out, get craftin' and I'll see you on the Aloha Friday Challenges page!

I hope you and yours all have a wonderful, safe holiday filled with love, happiness and joy!

Thankful thru the miles

Hello again KBD fans! I'm here again to share my latest cards. These are for the challenge over at Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges. I already showed you my little honey bear perfect pair and today I have these little bears to share...

I used Stitchy Bear digis for both cards. I added some fresh fall patterned papers, a little bit of ribbon, some Copic ink and there you have it. Two wonderful "thankful" cards to send out to my family to help celebrate Thanksgiving even though we are all so far apart.

If you add your "perfect pair" project to our linky, you could be chosen to win the wonderful prize being offered by Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet! So, go on and make a project or two and head over to Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges! See you there...

My perfect pair

As a child I collected 3 things: teddy bears, clowns and dragons. I was always drawn to the pitiful little bears that were missing an eye, an arm or just looked like they needed my love more than the others sitting around him. Silly, but I still find myself still drawn to the underdog animal. And I still collect bears, dragons and have added sea turtles over the years.

Today I wan to share this little card. I created it for the challenge over at Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges. How much more of a perfect pair can you possibly get than the love a bear has for honey?!

I used gray cardstock for the base adding some gray ink splats using a Stampin' Up set. I added few strips of coordinating ribbon I purchased at Walmart & Joann Fabrics. I really love this burlap ribbon, I picked up two different widths!

So, you really should pull out all your supplies and pull together a great card show casing your take on "perfect pairs." If you add your project to our linky, you could be chosen to win the wonderful prize being offered by Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet! Be sure to go on over to  Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges to read up on all the details! See you there...

Pass the pepper please...

Oooo - it's my absolutely, mostest, favoritest time of the year! (My English teacher sister will absolutilest hate that sentence!) And because it's my fav holiday, I ended up crafting two cards! When I saw these two little KBD kitties I just had to feature them for my "stand-in" DT spotlight. They are all dressed up and ready to head out to trick or treat.

AND, this is my 2nd card for this post. I used another  KBD image. I used my Copics to ink up all my digis. Added some great holiday papers, ribbons and embellishments and fell in love!

The current challenge over on the Kitty Bee Design Blog - Aloha Friday Challenges - is Halloween! Eeeek, its just perfect for me! You need to go over and check out the DT inspiration, entries and the wonderful challenge sponsor, The Paper Shelter.  I do hope you will head over and add your card to the linky! See you there!

Got Trick or Treats?

I do!

Today I am bringing you a new Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges. My fav theme: Halloween!!  I made a really cute Origami treat bag, shaped like a paper lunch bag. I will admit I fiddled with this bag sooooo much, just couldn't get the size I really needed with the 1st (or 3rd) try!

I used velum to make the bag and the embossing was actually an afterthought. I used an image from The Paper Shelter. Love those little images. You really should play along so you can WIN some great images from this store!! Go here (Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges) to add your project to the linky and keep your fingers crossed. The theme is super fun: Halloween which is perfect for this time of year. I hope to see you there.

Happy Halloween Everyone

Sew proud of you

When I was young, my Grannie made clothes for us, my mom did as well. You know, my daughter actually wore some of the clothes that had been made for me or my sisters! So it was natural for me to fall in love with sewing. I took every sewing related class while in High School and still am a very active seamstress to this day. I knew I had to find a way to use this most adorable Kitty Bee Design in a challenge. This challenge gave me just that chance!

Okay, Kitty Bee Designs is the home of Aloha Friday Challenges and our current challenge is all about animals. You can see how I interpreted this, I'd really love to see your interpretation!  Our uber cool sponsor this period is Bugaboo! They are graciously providing us with a super great prize!

I know you are heading over to the Aloha Friday Challenges page to add your project now, aren't you?! See you there!

Hey Daddy-o!

Hello Everyone!!

Time for a little Aloha Friday!! Yep - challenge time with Kitty Bee Designs!

Throughout my life, music has played an important part. It's not that I am a talented player of any instruments nor am I an amazing singer (although, I do put on an incredible concert while driving in my car). But, I did grow up having music nights with my family, singer into our make shift microphones, dancing all over the room. Always laughing, always followed by a great cookout of wonderful yummy food... Until my stroke, I always had music playing and I could almost always tell you who sang the song that was on the radio and what the words were! Ahhh, the good days! My favorite eras are the 50's and 70's.

That's were this adorable Kenny K digi image comes in! For the Kitty Bee Aloha Challenge #56, we want to see something about music! This images could be yours from our sponsor Kenny K if you win! I saw this milkshake image and immediately thought of sock hops, drive ins, greasers and pink ladies!

You need to head on over to the Kitty Bee Designs for the Aloha Friday Challenges to check out all the details and then add your project to the linky so you can have a chance to win the wonderful Kenny K prize!

It's that time of year (again)

August has finally come and it's off to middle school for my little (growing) Wild Man! 6th grade this year - yikes, where has the time gone? Just yesterday he was an adorable toddler stuffing his dirty socks into all kinds of hiding places. UGH - I miss those days. But, I am excited to watch  him grown and learn and develop into a fine young man.

In honor of school time Kitty Bee Designs ~ Aloha Friday Challenges.  We want to see your school work! tee hee

All your home work will be due the week of Aug 23rd. Check out the challenge site for all the details. Oh! And we have another great sponsor: Bugaboo Stamps! They will give the winner a super gift! So make sure you do your home work and turn it in on time kids!

I used the Bugaboo image Deacon School - sign it 2. They have some of the cutest digis! I colored him up with my Copics.  Used my sewing machinee to stitch down the bottom most layer of cardstock. The ruler is from an old paper pack. I traced over the notebook paper lines with my SU makers and stamped a retired SU image I onto the note.

I did an extra card mostly because I adore turtles - see.....

He's from Bugaboo as well Turtles School. The pattern papers and diamond dew drops are all from The Robin's Nest. The cardstock, stamped sentiment and hand punch is from SU.

Now, go create and have some fun while the kiddos are in school and all is quiet!

Narwhal Narwhal Swimming in the ocean....

Aloha friends!

Today is my spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs - the home of the Aloha Friday Challenges! We've asked to see your water/ocean animal projects. I decided to share a little Narwhal Love.

I cannot take credit for this card. Yainea at Lawn Fawn created this card in 2013. The link will take you directly to the post with the video on how to create the spinner card. I thought it'd be a blast to use the Kitty Bee narwhal with this little spinner. The last time I made a spinner card I thought it was a pain, but this was so very easy and fun.

I used my Copics to give him some color and Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle. The cardstock, pattern paper, sentiment and embossing powder are all retired Stampin Up. The bubble in this underwater sea scape are simply dollops of glitter glue.

Hope you will give this card a try and I hope to see you over at Kitty Bee Designs - participating in the current Aloha Friday Challenges!
