I just had to post this...

I am working at my craft table today. I go to eat the pizza hubby had reheated for us and this is what I came back to. My sweet little helper Little Momma (aka Purrcilla.) I adore this little kitty. She's got the tiniest little meow and she's my buddy. Thankfully I had gotten done with this Christmas card before she took up residence on my laptop, cuz I didn't have the heart to move her! So I went and worked on laundry until she moved...

She slept there for a little over an hour. Now that she's moved to the sunny window, I can share her pic and this card.

I used a 2 Cute Ink image, SU patterned paper and Hobby Lobby cardstock. I am out of all my great SU cardstock. It's very sad! They do make high quality papers. Annnd since losing Archiver's I have no where to get great papers! The snowflake under the under the image is from a large pack I picked up from Michael's 2 years ago.

Just a little family portrait

I am still working on my Christmas cards and will be thru the 1st of November. I figure it's so much easier to do a bit at a time. By doing it little by little I can also take time to try new things. Shoot it's just so much more fun taking my time.

I've seen these split front cards on Pinterest so I decided I'd try my hand at one. I created this one with challenge in mind. It's part of Santa's family of course!

The images are from ABM Illustrations. The paper is Bo Bunny and I used Copics and Wink of Stella. You know a card's a winner when your hubby inspects how the front panel is held together and hands it back to you with a real smile! He said "I really like this one, Boo!" Yeah, he's a keeper.

Fabulous Friday!

Welcome to the weekend my friends ~

I have recently unpacked my Cricut and decided I really need to use it more and learn all it can do. I had an original Cricut when they 1st came out and lemme tell you I wore that thing out! Knew that machine inside and out (so did my son, at the time he was like 3.) Then I decided to sell it and get the 2nd machine they put out... I used it but not as much and certainly didn't know it 1/2 as well as I did the 1st machine. Then like an idiot I decided a Silhouette would be so much better. I sold all my 80+ cartridges, the machine and all the mats and tools AND my Cricut Gypsy for next to nothing! I'm still kicking myself for that ever so silly decision!  End result, didn't like the Silhouette and sold it, then I bought the Cricut Explore Air. (See why I soooo regret selling all my other Cricut goodies?!) I've had it for a bit and have used it here and there, but hadn't really invested the time required to leearrrrrn it. So today that changed....

I made these two cards using my sweet little machine. I actually made these cards for 2 wonderful ladies. And me ever being the rebel - wanting to look at something in just a different way, I created the 1st card as a Birthday Gift Thank You card and not an actual Birthday card for the Cut It Up challenge. I added tiny little pearls to the centers of the flowers and to the sentiment. I'm gonna plop it in the mail today.

My next cute little card is for the Kitty Bee Aloha Friday challenge. It's harder to see but, the card front is actually a floral cut out! It's super pretty and behind it I decided to add a bright floral pattern paper to peek out from the floral cut out design. I colored a wee little bear (whos holding flowers) to a blue mat. I popped it up from the card front. I also added Wink Of Stella to his little pink ears, nose and heart and again to his little flowers. I really love this card bunches!!

I had a blast watching a few YouTube vids on the Explore Air and know without a doubt, I will be using this machine a lot more moving forward!

Reindeer Games

Good Morning -

I am on a roll with a few Christmas goodies. I had a great time creating these two treat boxes. I will hide them away to use come holiday season.

My 1st box will hold a good bit. The image I used is a cling stamp purchased at Michael's while on clearance.  The card stock and pattern paper is from SU. I used a bit or twine and Copics.

My 2nd box is just too cute, I think. Paper is SU and the image is Lawn Fawn. You can 't tell it but his little gift is on a pop dot. I used Copics to give him a bit of color. The ribbon is seam binding I bought yeeears ago from Etsy. I can't wait to put a little gifty inside this Christmas. When I created him I thought of my Daughter.

Merry Christmas!

Yep - I am getting started now for this years Christmas cards! Call me crazy, but this way I can have fun, try new things and not stress over getting enough completed to mail on time.

I figure while I'm at it I might toss my hat in the ring for a few challenges here and there.

I have never created a sunburst card and I was very surprised at just how easy it was. I used a few double sided paper scraps, an adorable snowman from AMB Illustrations and Copics to ink him up. I believe all the papers are retired SU DSPs. I know black isn't really ever thought of as a holiday color, but I really wanted the papers to pop. I think it worked. I am working on a few other holiday cards, once they are done I'll let cha see.

Bunny Love

Hi friends!

I'm here today to share my latest challenge card with you. I have decided on only 4 challenges to play along with, mostly they are with blogs I was lucky enough to be a DT member or friend of. Today happens to be a lady I was on another DT with. Sasayki Glitter Digital Stamps can be purchased at Etsy (click here for the adorable images!)

Her blog, Sasayki Glitter Challenge Blog is full of great DT projects and tips for her digital images. Did I tell you already her images are super sweet?!

Okay, so for this monthly challenge, I decided to use this cute digi image!  I used paper from  ...... YES, you guessed it! My scrap basket! It's just there are so many adorable papers in there I can't help myself!! I  created the braided cad spine from a tute I watched on YouTube, VERY easy and super fun.

BTW, the challenge theme is "red" so I used pops of various shades of red throughout my card, I used my Copics to give this little bunny some life. I then added Wink of Stella to all the colored areas. Sooo, the little "white" spots you see in the ink are actually little bits of glitter reflecting my camera flash. Finally, I used creamy colored seam binding to tie a flouncy bow for the top of the card. Another fun challenge and I think I'm getting back into the creative swing of things. And, I promise, this card with this color combo looks so much better in life than it does here as a picture. It's funny, the more I look at it - the more I think it's a color combo mess! Yikes!

Luv Ya' Bunches

I'm such a happy camper ~ I unpacked my Cricut today! I then spent some time downloading a few cut files I needed and a few I didn't. Then I put together a card for a swap I'm in at Splitcoast. I totally CASE'd this card from the lady I purchased the digis from (info below.)

I cut the lattice overlay with my lovie Cricut. The patterned paper underneath is retired SU. The veggie images and sentiment are digital and from MHKDesigns. I added a decorative brad and there you have it! My swap card.

Love on the way ~

This sweet image makes my heart smile. That's why I will be sending the card to my daughter who lives in Virginia. I miss her a great deal. She keeps all the cards I make and send. That makes me happy.

I decided to create this sweet little card for the current Kitty Bee Designs Challenge.  This challenge happens to be a color challenge, very soft pretty colors no less. I created a top fold card and embossed the white base layer. The pattern papers are from a sweet little 6x6 card pack I picked up last year while at Hobby Lobby. The crocheted flowers are retired SU embellishments. I added a glitter covered brad to the center. The image is a Kitty Bee Designs image that I colored with my Copics. I hope Sissy likes her new card. =)

Early Spring or Longer Winter?

Hi everyone!

On Groundhog Day this year, Punxsutawney Phil sadly predicted 6 more weeks of winter weather for the north. But, here in the south (Georgia to be exact) General Beauregard Lee did not see his shadow therefore we are to have an early spring! I love living in Georgia! It does feel and look more like spring as our daffodils (one of my fav flowers) are in full bloom.

I created this cute little guy for just this event. Scribbles Designs is hosting a monthly challenge celebrating Punxsutawney Phil's prediction - Baby it's Cold Outside. I will admit spring here in Georgia can be crazy. In the morning we can have temps as low as the 30's but by afternoon we can be in the 70's! AND if that's not enough, we've had our worst snow storms in the month of March!

So, for my card I embossed the cream card base but I used the debossed side up. The pattern paper is (like almost always) from my large scrap basket. I used a Scribbles Designs image. I inked him up using my Copic markers and I added a bit of bakers twine too. And there he is! Sweet little guy isn't he??

Peeking Bunnies

Hi again!

Yeppie - my 1st challenge in over a year! I've decided to try a new card base, this is a tent window card. I saw the tutorial here at Splitcoast Stampers. I have so much fun trying new to me things! I decided to make a little scene card for spring for my submission at Cut It Up.

All the pattern paper is from my scrap basket. I stamped the SU images and colored them with my Copics. I used my circle dies to cut the window and the frame. I fussy cut the grass and stamped images.

Hello from the land of the lost!

Well hello said the little lost girl.

I had to take some time off to move our home (again) not once, not twice but three times over the past year and sadly we are not done yet. It's icky and I'm not looking forward to our next move ~ BUT ~ this upcoming move will be our final move (come hell or high water!!)

So, I had a blast working as a Design Team Gal for a handful of absolutely wonderful paper crafting companies. And maybe once we are truly settled I may decide to throw my hat back in the ring, but for now I am going to participate in a few special challenges on a regular basis. I've not been able to do much paper crafting at all for the past year and I have really missed it.

I was able to work on my cross stitch and have been working on a zombie and Minecraft wall for my son's bedroom. Truth be told, I love zombies too! Maybe I'll post a pic or two later, but for now I think I'm gonna go to crawl into bed.

Not my circus...

Howdy Ho Neighbor!!

Well, sadly, today is my last guest DT post for So Suzy Stamps. It's been fun and I really appreciate the privilege of being able to create using her fab-u-kitty images....

So here he is! Squeeee, I've fallen in love with this little guy. And may I just say this sentiment is (of course) simply perfect! It's been super hard to hold on to these 3 images and to make them the last card, but I'm happy I did.

Images used:  Monkey, Palm Tree, Not My Circus

For the base of the card, I used your simple 5.5" x 4.25 white. I added the dark brown and layered a flower print strip at 2.25 x 5 1/8, the yellow polka dots was cut to 3.5 x 3" and I cut the last white layer to 3.25 x 2.75. I also used my paper cutter to emboss a few stripes down the flower print paper, but in hind-site, you really can't tell.

I stamped all my images on white Neehan. I colored the tree and little monkey with my Copics. The monkey: E50, E33, E34 & E35. The tree top and grass: YG61, G21, YG63 & G94. The tree trunk: E23, E25 & E27. For the coconuts: E71, E74, E77 & E79. Oh, a little helpful tip. I am not the most talented of Copic users, and I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten all the way down to using my 100 black to color the outline of the cut image to hid what white may be left and to give it a nice finished look and my hand totally slips! And then there it is a HUGE black line across my wonderfully colored image. POOP - then you have to start all over if you can't find a way to hide it with an embellishment of some sort..... may I suggest?? I use my Stampin Up GRAY marker. It's a much thinner nib and therefore much easier to maneuver and much less juicy. I've been much happier with the out come.

I decided to stamp the sentiment and then cut it apart. I like to use scraps for everything I possibly can to save money for wonderful things like So Suzy's stamps!!

I decided just the white words got lost, so I mounted them on the same dark brown I used as the card base layer. Since I've already packed up a large majority of my craft room (moving in just 2.5 weeks!!) Since I've been doing a lot of  quilting, I had DMC floss out and used it across the bottom on the and then up through a button.

So, there you have it! My little monkey card. I love this little guy, did I already mention that??
